This one is for you.
It would appear that we have had complaints about the frequency of updates. I make no apologies, but instead refer to the post about Jeffie sitting at home eating BonBons. She’s the one taking all the vacation. And there are still no signs of BonBons in this house.
Normal protocol for Sunday mornings with the Grandparents is to get up (sometime) and go to Shoney’s for breakfast/brunch. After that, it’s typically a trip to Costco and the Grandparents leave for home. This sunday was a bit different. Jeffie has been spoiling Mary and William with breakfast in the morning since she has much more time now. This Sunday, Mary didn’t want to go for breakfast, it was Mommy doing Waffles!
So, a trip to Kroger for some bread and Milk (and there wasn’t ANY snow in the forecast!) for Daddy, and Mommy and Grandma started cooking. The problem with this, is that we then had PLENTY of additional time. Jeff had found a place called Honeysuckle Hill Farms, which does Easter as well as Fall festivals.
We took a field trip. Honeysuckle Hill Farms is north west of Nashville, back in the areas of Tennessee that aren’t quite as developed as Franklin. Great people, but it’s most definitely rural, and was a bit out of the way. It was worth it. The Kids had a blast, wore BOTH of them out.
Mary ran all over that farm, William got to Seesaw, and both saw farm animals and hunted Easter eggs. We spent several hours at the farm, and finally had to go. It was a bit cold, and thanks to the rain and snow recently, it was QUITE wet and muddy. Mary fell asleep on the way back, she had ran and played so hard. By this time, we had long since burned through the Waffles, and needed some food. So, muddy, with worn out Kids, we went to the Cactus (every restaurant around here tends to have it’s own codeword… Cactus being the Texas Roadhouse, coincidentally founded and headquartered in Indiana.).
Poor Mary was still so worn out that she couldn’t do much more than eat a few rolls and then lay down on the bench. William did much the same, minus the laying down part. Brought everyone home, let the girls dig some holes in the yard, and started to calm things down. Calm being a relative thing.
