Despite the slight scare when William couldn’t sit up on Wednesday, he continues to make progress steadily towards being able to engage in activities and get around.
He didn’t like baths and fussed each time. He went into the bath without a fuss last night. I think he is finally able to sit confidently in the tub when we put him in and that makes a difference. He doesn’t stay sitting up for long before going on his tummy. Here are some pictures of him waiting to be put in the bath Thursday night.
Thinking about it…

Are you sure about this, Mom?

I don’t wanna!!!

Momma: “Can you get your toes?” Instant distraction because yes, now I can.

Sitting up and playing

Smiling even though Momma put bubbles in.

He is crawling around to the point that he has redness on his knees and legs. He won’t crawl off the carpet yet. He’ll sit on a scooter or toy with wheels and scoot a little in the kitchen but doesn’t use his legs to turn around yet, just straight forward and backwards. He is now able to crawl in and out of the children chairs we have in the house. He will tackle the bonus room stairs to chase momma down. The first of many more ‘breathing exercises’ I’m to be engaging in.

MaryVic played up, up with the balloon from Friday to Sunday. William would laugh thoroughly entertained with her antics.

He is up on his knees to get at the busy beads on the bus.

William continues to be a sweetie and melts my heart as I move him around or help him with things by going “T’anks Momma”. He is happy to be able to move around and chase sister even if she can run past him 5 times before he gets to where she used to be.

MaryVic is being great, playing with him and encouraging him. She does have the tendency to ask 5 times in a row, at 5 second intervals, “Can he walk yet?” No, no, no! He’ll walk when he walks. I guess she then figures if Mom couldn’t make it happen at some point by then she’ll wait to engage in this particular quiz until the next day. He has started snatching and getting into her toys so some wailing has started, lol, as she adjusts to his new mobility.
We’re going to storytime and Mom’s office today. I may try to take them to the zoo after lunch. Maybe after 2 days the playground will be dried out. If nothing else, maybe Pinkerton Park. It’s so pretty today here, 75 and sunny but supposed to rain again later in the week.
