It’s the most Magical time of the year…..

And yes, that’s a shirt hanging behind her. Didn’t have the opportunity to site prep.

Hey, I lasted 2 posts, right?
But this one needs more than one picture. I am going to try to keep it to one story, and put photos as needed.
When we go to Destin, it seems that one of the priorities is to get some good food. For me, that means getting something decent that doesn’t smell like the sea, while everyone else gets Seafood. Hey, you’re on the coast, take advantage of it.
Destin did not have a good culinary representation for us this week. One of the establishments (which will not be named to prevent Google from giving advertisements) appeared to have exactly one fryer, used for both fish sticks and chicken (Chicken tenders, Macaroni and Cheese, and Cheese Sandwitches seem to be the kids ONLY dietary requirements), as well as a distinct lack of any type of Oven. A temporary setback, I’m sure, but not reassuring when you order and are then informed on what you can’t have.
I can’t say that any of the food (besides William’s Chicken tenders of the sea) was bad. But neither will I say it was really good.
Except.
It’s been a busy day. I’ve got 600+ shots to sort through from today, plus about 90 keepers from yesterday. It’s been a great 24 hours for photography for me, and I fully intend to enjoy sorting, selecting, and processing some of these pictures.
I’ve got a feeling that my Epson 4000 wide format printer is going to get some duty cycles very soon. And that’s not counting the hard drive beating that will occur in 9 days when we hit the beach.
It’s a good thing the 5d Mark 2 isn’t coming out until November.
The teaser(s) are after the jump….
Daddy took the kids to School this morning. Only this time, He got a bit lost.
It’s not like we’ve had much rain this summer, so with a gentle soaking rain, and a Friday Afternoon, It was time to Splash some puddles!
Mary led the charge.

But William wasn’t about to let her have ALL the fun.

It was quite fun watching them stomp stomp stomp, RUN AWAY! the moment a car came onto the road.

UPDATE:
Ok, so those pictures didn’t resize well at all. Here’s the Gallery link:
When you have a someone that just won’t quit?
Some History first.
Last year, in October, we had to say goodbye to one of our close family. Our 14 year German Shepard finally lost her battle with time. Kosh had been a part of Mary and William’s life from the beginning. One of the first pictures we have of Mary in the house is with Kosh sitting right by her. She was truly a major part of our family, and we miss her.
Ever since then, there seemed to be a continuous parade of “I need a pet”. That ‘pet’ has ranged from another dog, to birds, to fish. I am not ready for another dog. I still see pictures on the TV and start break up.
So, when we went to the County fair, and Mary saw Games that would allow her to WIN a goldfish, things started again.
Or, we go to a Birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese!
They Serve Beer, but they should go directly to Hard liquor. I think every parent secretly loves the place because of the wearing out effect on their kids, but openly (among adults) hates almost everything else about it.
Sometimes, It’s important for a little girl to learn all of the Family Recipes. In the south, this is pretty much required, and we start early.

Of course, while the recipe and technique may not have been passed through on this session, the joy certainly was.
