This was in the “What’s going on here” post, but I’m going to separate it out so that I can sticky that post at the top for a while.

*yawn* Is that William crying? What time is it? Five a.m. William is really fussing this time so I scooped him up went on downstairs, changed him, set the timer for 2 hours, and held him until he fell asleep again. I dozed off too and woke when the alarm went off. Made another pillow station, changed him, started a cup of coffee, and set the timer again. We played for a while. He seemed okay so I didn’t give him any more pain medicine. Still didn’t want anything to eat but was thirsty.
MaryVic got up and played with her webkinz and on the computer. I found a website, http://www.hip-baby.org/entertainment.html, which gave me the idea for setting William up in a chair. He had a fit to be in it as soon as he saw it. The kids had some cereal and played some more. Mary is generally good around William but still give us small heart attacks playing around William. She has to be reminded that William is hurt and to be careful which I’m sure is going to be repeated many times over the next 6 weeks. She also is helpful and sweet at times which makes us so proud of her.
My mother comes to visit and check on the babies. They are thrilled to see her. We talk and play. Mom helps keep William entertained during tummy time which he doesn’t so much like as need. Maybe when he has built up the upper body strength to do more. Mom doesn’t try to lift him and seems amazed at the new level of care. Just when you have diaper changing down to an art, it goes to a multi step process, remove pad, diaper, wipe, new pad, diaper and fasten the pullup over it all.
William is very talkative and playful today. MaryVic demands her share of attention with Nana and is bouncing all over the place. While Nana is here, Greg runs out to try to find a bean bag and get a few things.
Greg returns with the hit of the day, Otters chicken tenders. I pull one apart and put on a plate for William. He sees it and grabs the plate. Starts chomping down on it. Nana runs and tears up another one for him. We are thrilled to finally see him eating. Mary tries to get away with eating only french fries and ketchup but everyone is wise to her and she has to eat some chicken too.
Our friends who kept Mary while we were at Vanderbilt stop by to check on us and have some new toys for William. They are wonderfully kind and the children are thrilled with the Little Einsteins toys. Mary tells them thank you and blows kisses to them. They both love the sliding toys to make music and Mary absconds with the character toys but William gets to keep Leo.
After lunch, Greg gets a call from his boss and Nana leaves. Mary and I wave bye to her and head inside. Just before Nana left we found a spot where our little black ant friends have intruded inside again so I have to clean that up. Greg finishes his call and relocates the kids upstairs so I clean, spray, and growl in private. We’ve had the house sprayed, sprayed it ourselves and these little home invaders keep coming.
The kids do enjoy the change of scenery though and play well upstairs. William falls asleep and I run out to Kroger. I wake him changing him when I return and it’s time for tummy time again. I have difficulty getting him situated and he fusses in pain. Greg comes and we are able to get him comfortable on a body pillow where he can see the tv and play. Mary runs downstairs with me to pick out some toys for William to play with while on his tummy.
Cheese sticks for dinner although William doesn’t seem hungry again. MaryVic tears around the room in circles. Obviously she is going to need some more activity on Monday. Finally we have to tell her to stop and she just skirts a time out for not minding. She does have one tantrum that night and cries for me. Unfortunately William is sitting in my lap eating so I can’t go get her and she left the room on her own accord. Greg goes and tells her to come back when she calms down, no one is mad at her, she is the one who left and is the one who can come back. She comes back, snuggles in at my side. All is well again.
I run baths for the kids. Start multiple trips up and downstairs trying to remember what all I need for bedtime. Greg puts William on the bed and I start his sponge bath. After I manage to get his shirt off which he was convinced was the best shirt ever and pouted about the removal, we had fun and he enjoyed the damp washcloth hat, practically washing his own hair. Once he was cleaned up and situated, I went and played with Mary who had gotten into her bath all on her own. Got her cleaned and out.
Baby snuggles, Mary to Greg and I’m snuggling William as best one can. Mary falls asleep first. William parties for a while. Greg gives him dose of pain medicine. Aunt Janie calls and while I’m talking with her, William is taking his hand “Up!” putting it on my shoulder, and “Wheee!” sliding it down over my chest. Momma playground. He tells me a story, not that I understand but it’s obvious something is being explained. We sing itsy bitsy spider and watch how it’s made, boat, clock, with lots of “wow!”s. Finally he is asleep.
We get him changed and into the crib. This night doesn’t go as smoothly as Saturday night. He wakes several times, crying. Greg gets up with him the first time and then I sit with him until he falls back asleep. One of the times I’m soothing William down I hear Mary’s footsteps and go back to bed to find her snuggled in next to Greg. Finally William really wakes up and is crying, “Up!”. I’m surprised that he is waking so much with the pain medicine. I don’t know what’s wrong and quickly toss things around on the guest bed. I pick him up and he lays his head on my shoulder and quiets. I get him on the guest bed and lay down with him. He snuggle in and falls asleep again. Finally I adjust and go back to sleep myself.
