Pictures from Family Night
Jeffie wrote about it, but didn’t post the pictures, so here they are:
Monday morning start
William slept well last night. He started waking around 3 and after the third time, I picked him up and fell back on the guest bed. I think he just needed to be in a new position which the cast won’t allow for and you can’t just roll him over in the crib. Everyone is asleep. Our big plan for the day is a trip to storytime at the library with either playing on the library children’s computers or at the playground behind the library. The second item on the agenda is a trip to the grocery store so we can get eggs for the neighborhood egg hunt on Sunday. Wish us luck!
Going to feed the Geese
Thursday morning
We slept in a bit but are up. I gave William some motrin and he is playing. Definitely a 2 cups of coffee morning for me! I guess we’ll switch over to his loratab in the afternoon. He can be so stoic that it is hard to tell when he is in pain. He definitely said ‘ow’ some last night though
I’m just not going to try to figure him out, be preventative up front.
Wednesday – Oww!
It was an okay day and everything seemed to be going alright. ARC of Franklin put me in contact with the United Cerebral Palsy equipment room which loans an assortment of wheelchairs and things. They do have 2 car seats but they are both checked out right now. Greg and I will go on his lunch tomorrow and look to see if there is anything we might could use. William did fine and played and we had a good time until late afternoon.
A package came from Great-Grandmomma Williams and William enjoyed playing with his ribbeting frog. He and MaryVic both played with her light-up mermaid pen. One minor crisis when William had it and refused to give it back. What a two-year old not wanting to share??
He took a short little nap around 1p.m. He got really mad about not being able to outside. “No William, the snow will get your cast wet and it is really cold!” Logic and two year olds… He had a tantrum pretty much and I took him upstairs. He fell asleep again for 45 minutes and then wanted to be with momma the rest of the evening. He would perk up and then fall into a bad mood again. I got both kids down and in their respective beds (whoo-hoo!). I had given William a dose of tylenol after his sponge bath. He was fussing on and off about being ‘stuck!’ prior to falling asleep. William woke up screaming. Changed the diaper and got him sleepy again. Tried to put him back in his crib and he woke and wailed. ‘No, Don’t!’ stated repeatedly. Really sobbing. I picked him up and he pretty much stayed with me the rest of the night. I got him back to sleep and we tried one more time to get him in the crib but he woke up screaming. We gave him another dose of pain medicine after midnight and then just tried to make the best of it. He was fussy all night aside from the fact he takes up a whole side of the bed himself now. Maybe Thursday night will go better. Will keep him dosed most of tomorrow and see if that helps. *yawn*
Monday
Monday was a pretty full day. We’ve talked to a pretty large number of people, including the Daycare. I’ll put that discussion in a separate post later after we’ve had time to digest everything.
Sunday – The long version
This was in the “What’s going on here” post, but I’m going to separate it out so that I can sticky that post at the top for a while.
Monday morning
William starts fussing and when I wake up, it is morning. I get up and straighten him. He is pushing at his cast and yelling, “I stuck, I stuck!”. I have to smile ruefully as I tell him, “Yes honey, you sure are.” I get him changed and downstairs. After we try a few things and have a discussion, despite his concerns he goes on his tummy. He has since fallen asleep again and Mary is with me snuggled in at my side. Hopefully today will go smoother than last night.
Bowel update… He had a movement Sunday night, but frankly we were too tired to do much more than change it and try to get back to sleep.
William was up at 4:30am this morning screaming his head off. He’s doing well, all things considered, but sometimes you just wish he’d sleep.
Friday night at Vanderbilt
Ah, Friday night. A long week, trip to Mexico through a monsoon season delay ridden Houston, but it’s finally FRIDAY!
So, let’s spend Friday Night at …. The Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital’s Operating Room!
