Smyrna Air Show – Mom’s Perspective

Ohmigosh! A big show with Big Jet!!

Okay, I didn’t take any pictures of the jets and planes with the iphone. Here are a few of the kids at the show. Greg has more and better pictures. He took over 3000 pictures of the air show along with a few of the kids. It will be a while before they are sorted through and on our photo website.

Easter Egg Hunt, Part 1 of ?

Ok, so yesterday, we have one of the best snows that Nashville has had in several years. It closed down the main street festival (or at least fundamentally did so.) Out of all of the scheduled appearances, two called to say they’d be there. Everyone else said no way. That’s to be expected. We went down anyways just in case the Celtic Dancers were there. We had a feeling that Mary would really get into them, if they weren’t too loud. If they were too loud, then William would really get into them. Either way, a win!

They were one of the ones that said no way. Oh well.

Fast forward, oh, 24 hours. Easter egg hunt for Polk Place. There’s snow out, no way this is happening.

Home on Saturday

We decided to move Greg’s car out of the garage and only have the van in there to facilitate the easier removal of William from the car. Greg carried William in and we settled in the den with our first pillow station. We changed him and set the timer for 2 hours.

We took turns getting cleaned up. Greg worked on the light switches and I wound holding William while he napped for a large part of the afternoon and napping myself. We talked to family which led to the blog after having repeated the story several times.

We ordered in pizza and ate. Then went upstairs to bath Mary and head to bed. William became upset when Mary got a bath and he didn’t. Got him distracted while Greg cleaned Mary up. William saw Greg playing with Mary and then wanted his turn to be flipped upside down which couldn’t happen. William took a dose of pain medicine and Mary took a dose of cold medicine. We finally got settled and watched 2 shows. TV wentoff and both kids slipped off to dreamland.

Greg moved Mary, fixed William’s crib and then came back for William pillow and all. It worked really well and he slept all night in the crib aside from an few instances of fussing. He had tiger and a sippy so he was easily soothed back down with a head rub. It took a bit for Greg and I to unwind enough to sleep but we finally passed out after he worked on the blog for a bit.
